Overmolded hubs are used in the connecting/joining of one extrusion type to another (extrusion, metal shaft, or component type). These hubs may be formed with a single overmold material, or they may be created using multiple materials. Overmold constructions are typically used in high severity, implantable applications where device/hub connections must be critically strong.
